DONALD SCHMIT BIO
Don
Schmit is a native of Waterloo, graduate of Columbus High School, Loras College
in Dubuque, and Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine and
Surgery where he received his medical degree in 1976. He has practiced medicine
in Waterloo and Cedar Falls since 1979. His current practice is Emergency
Medicine and has been working in Cedar Falls since 1991. He became interested in
law enforcement during his years as Black Hawk County Deputy Medical Examiner
from 1979 - 2000. An opportunity arose in the summer of 2006 to apply for the
position of Reserve Officer on the Cedar Falls Police Department, and he joined
the department in January 2007.
