Annual State Reserve Competition Shoot::
The 35th Annual Iowa State Reserve Law Officers Association State Competition Shoot will be held September 21st, 2008 at Camp Dodge.
Annual ILEA-ISRLOA Training Seminar::
The 22nd Annual Reserve Officer Training Seminar will be held September 20th, 2008 at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.
Ed Seggerman was born in Washington Illinois, raised on a
farm in the Roanoke/Secor Illinois area, working for several farmers. Moved
to Winfield Iowa in 1962, his sophomore year in high school and worked for
Fricke Brothers farms after moving to Iowa.
After graduation in 1964 he went to work for Vega Industries, later
Heatilator, now (Hearth Technologies) as a fireplace welder, leadman of the
welding department, maintenance department worker, tool and die man where he
acquired his journeyman tool and die makers card, foreman of the three shift
tool and die department and process engineer.
He left Heatilator in early 1984 and went to work at the Henry County Road
department. As the equipment records and parts purchasing person. Was
promoted to office and purchasing manager.
He left there in 1991 and went to Wal*Mart Distribution Center in loss
prevention where he continues.
He joined the US Army Reserves in 1965 with the 495th Engineers, and was
acting squad leader in basic training. Back at the unit he was a heavy
equipment mechanic which was his (MOS) military occupational skill, a squad
leader, motor pool records clerk, motor seargent and mess seargent. With the
389th engineers as mess seargeant and platoon seargent and with the 5041st
(USARFS) United States Army Reserve Forces School a course director and
retired as an E-8 Master Seargent in 1988 after 23 years.
Joined the Henry County Sheriff department in 1989 and left in1990 due to
work conflict, rejoined in 1997 to present where he still is a member and
secretary of the reserve unit.
Married Charlene in 1968, moved to Mount Pleasant Iowa where they still
reside, she works for Wal*Mart in the local super center as the invoice
person. They have two daughters, two son in-laws and two grand children. The
oldest Lora and her husband Steve in Tokyo, Japan with the two grand
children, both teaching at the American School In Japan (ASIJ). The youngest
Jana and her husband Chris in Waukee, Iowa both working for the new AT&T
Mobility (old Cingular Company).
